Pinapagawa ng boss ko, tanungin daw mga community... ayun tinanong ko sa Joomla and Drupal...

http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,212319.0.html

http://drupal.org/node/175481

Now kung same question ko itatanong dito, mga magkano ba kug outsource ito at ipapagawa na lang lahat, mga magkano?

Kasi magbibigay na ng proposal ata company namin within 24 hours and kailangan ng figure para macalculate na kung ano ilalagay sa proposal.

Ito actual question ko sa forums above:

Hello Everyone,

I am a new member of the forum. And needs to deliver a proposal to a client in the next 24 hours. Although I have some web design and web development background, I am currently more of an SEO person right now. And at the company where I work, we are going to deliver a kind of portal solution to a client. This will include the following:

CMS/Blog
Classified Ads and Banners Section
Calendar of Events
A Forum
Has to have a Tableless CSS Template
SEF URLs
Fully customizable meta tags and title tags

This is a big B2B site with a large community of suppliers/customers.

I guess this is a bit easy for the seasoned Drupal user but I just needed some guidance from the community on how much would you charge to set this all up along with designing the template as well based on approved client specifications.

The earlier the better I can come up with prices, the better. I just need to give a quick proposal and needs a price. And if we get to close this deal, I will be back and by that time, I will be looking for people to actually work on the project.

Could anyone help give me a ballpark figure?

I would love too see other people's rates on this kind of project.

I'm not sure about tablesless CSS, you will need to use tables at one point. =)

It also depends on the number of pageviews/day they expect. For large traffic sites you might need to implement caching modules/techniques which can be quite tricky.

Also yung classifieds/banners thing mejo vague, kalangan din kasi malaman kung gaano ka complex yung features para makapagbigay ng quote ng maayos.

From scratch (not drupal) fully customized CMS, I'd quote $1000, 10 weeks development time.

(malaki ang ballpark =))

lahat ng features pede gawin sa drupal using module, problema lang siguro yung function ng bawat module kung sakto sa hinahanp ng client mo.

Sabihin na natin yung pinaka the best na features.

Here is a direct quote from my boss:

If you look at the CMS of let's say The New York Times. We want the quality of that only one step below that level.

So imagine na din ang banner ads to have some banner ad rotation in certain places, may image resizing bago save ang banner. Maybe a simple impression counter and click counter on the served ads.

Hindi ako gagawa ng project, kasi para sa company where I work and not for my own stuff.

But I was also given the task to do the research on comparing all CMS and they wanted a formal report on everything from reliability, scalability, themeable, XHTML/CSS and wanted me to compare everything i could find and backup everything I found out to prove one is better than the other.

I was quite surprised myself, Drupal was the champion. Alam ko Drupal fan ka Eli, and so... after the research I was assigned to do, Drupal fan na din ako. *LOL* now may slight learning curve lang so I still need to get a hang of it.
