Since the update of google last january 13, 2007, I have experienced a drop in AdSense earnings. I used to earn $150/day but since January 16 when the update took effect on my site and removed my top ranking pages, it drops to $50/day.

Some says the effect is regional. Kaya ask ko kayo mga kababayan. Did you experienced the same?

I've actually increased my earnings ever since I implemented a simple change in my personal blog - add bordered images beside AdSense.

US$50 is still quite good. Wish I could reach those numbers.

I experienced a drop this month but that wasn't because of the recent update

I had to move the site into another host as my previous host wants to charge me a lot as the site went up to nearly 200gb of bandwidth last december, I tried a service of a fellow pinoy offering me something cheap and something big wherein all that he promised for the hosting specs were false, so what happened is they just suspend the account saying that they can't hold the site anymore without giving me a notice.

What happened? The site was down for a couple of days causing members to take off all their codes placed in their myspace accounts. How sad.

It was earning around $150-$200 but not per day, per week before the incident and last week? It's $0.66....

Oi Major! Kumusta! I'm Glad that you're back up and online. Long time no hear. Anyway, it's good that you're earning a bit on adsense, even with the drop. I actually know of someone who's earning $50-$100 daily. He has a forum. I guess if you have the right forum, you'll get income.

I don't know who Googler is, but I doubt if he will say what his site is. Ako if I mention my name and do not hide my identity, many people know some of my sites. And I stopped revealing to other people how much I am earning on Adsense. With all these stories from people I know, that includes, Mike Lopez, Gio, Jun, Whin that has been kicked out of adsense, I avoid talking about my earings na, because people can just click and click on your site's ads and I don't want to get banned from Adsense.

When I chat with some friends I have on Digital Point, and they ask what my sites are, I don't give them the site unless there was a good reason to give it to them.

If my identity is hidden, I talk about how much I earn on Adsense, but I still do not give my sites out. Actually takot lang ako mawalan ng Adsense, just like what other people I know has done. They had to resign up again as a new name, new address, new everything. And once you place it on an old domain and IP from the banned account, you get banned once again right away. And the only solution seems to be is open a new account, a new name, a new address, on a new domain and if you want to save your old traffic from the old site. Maybe 301 to the domain to the new.

But wait... I am not answering the questions and humihiwalay na kwento ko... Did I experience a drop? Nope no drop overall. Kung may drop, it was not more than $4 difference.

But if I look at my channels, some sites dropped, while other sites got higher. Parang seasonal sila. And since many of them are blogs, they are event driven, if you have a topic that was popular during that point in time, tumataas CTR during that period. How many of your made more money after the Pacquiao fight? How many of you made money right after Angelica Panganibans fat photos first came out? Although I do not concentrate on getting the news early, since parang reporter job na yun, and you need to race against time. First in the SERPs, first hits, high traffic, high CTR, but when the event is over, wala nanaman. That is why I want to concentrate on forums next time, or maybe an online tool, or maybe celebrity stuff. Not sure yet, but I am trying them all, and kung ano malakas, dun ako.

Now if napapansin ko in the middle of the month, like in the middle of January and my current Adsense earnings are less than 1/2 of December, I do some extra promotion. Even simply small things can help make things big. I send interesting blog post via IM to people on my contact list that might be interested in my post. Usually the funny stuff are the ones that get passed around a lot. I add more friends on my Social Networking sites, this may not work on all occassions, but it works fine for celebrity sites and have a celebrity fan identity on social networking sites. And like magic, it starts to catch up.

If by February, mapansin ko that I need to promote even harder to match January, I will quickly finish my next project in February to add another site and I have a long list in my queue of sites I need to work on, that all in the meantime are on monetize domain parking services.

Dami kong sinabi. Question lang was if there was a drop. For me no drop. But naging ugali ko na if I see it lower in the middle of the month compared to the previous month, I work on it to match the previous month. Usually several good blog post + Yahoo Messenger + YahooGroups + Friendster will do the trick already. And of course I do not promote and tell people to click on the ads. Just promote good content. And another thing I can say is... this may not work that well with SEO blogs and tech blogs.
